If you're an academic we might be able to offer you free primary research data with sample sizes you've only been able to dream about.  We're looking for expert academic research partners who can further their own research programmes whilst helping our 100,000 UK adult panel to understand themselves better too...

So what's this all about?

It's become very popular to develop self completion questionnaires online that tell you your IQ, personality or even what kind of Star Wars character you are.

So popular that large samples numbering in the millions on certain quizzes can be achieved.

We applaud this trend and we'd like to emulate it and so we want to develop a series of surveys for our 100,000 strong community of UK adults that we hope they will find illuminating.  We want academic partners to help with this task.

Validity and Rigour

The reason we want academics to partner with us is simply because we want the tests to be statistically "valid".  We see a lot of tests that have no obvious analysis, data normalisation, internal or external significance testing or methodology and so the results they provide are interesting but no more than that.

We want our tests to be both interesting and useful.  Partnering with academics seems a natural fit because we have much to offer in return.

What we offer

We can programme and host a survey on our site, inviting specific samples to take part or leaving it open to all, depending on the requirements.

We believe we can guarantee large adult samples numbering in the tens of thousands.  We may also be able to provide more niche samples - please ask.

We will provide raw data to our academic partners, including background panel variables such as age, gender, social status, region etc.

ALL data is anonymised however and we cannot and will not provide our panellists personal information or contact details.  The privacy of our users is paramount.

What we request

In return for our large sample and data collection services, we would require the following:
- A survey with questions and answers (obviously!)
- The report and related logic that will provide a short "test feedback" to each respondent completing the survey.
We are not be able to programme every survey we receive and so we prioritise those that are more interesting.
Two equally interesting surveys will be prioritised by length - the shorter the better.
Other than that we are very open to approaches and we are particularly interested in the following topics:
- Psychology and self awareness
- Sociology, family, inter-personal relationships, crowd behaviour
- Education
- Health
- Economics, consumer behaviour and media usage
- Ecology, carbon usage, environmental impact assessment
- Leisure, air travel and vacations

Here's an example of what not to do!

To help explain what we mean, here's an example of a possible "feedback survey".  This admittedly is just the type of test we are trying to avoid because the data and feedback is not tested.

Interested?

Please contact us to discuss your research topic.  We would love to hear from you.
